In India, 5 out of every 1000 babies are born with hearing loss. Lack of awareness, early detection, and timely intervention adversely affect these children’s hearing, speaking, and learning abilities. As they grow, they find it difficult to engage and express themselves and find it difficult to cope in school and with their peer groups.
Montfort Care is working to ensure that all children get identified before the age of 3 years, so that they can learn a language, study in regular schools and lead an everyday life. Our primary activities are to bring awareness about deafness and the need for early intervention to the general public and parents in particular, screen children and give rehabilitation services to children with hearing loss and integrate them in mainstream schools.
Montfort care is a project under Stephen School, a trust working in the field of hearing disability for the past 61 years
